Yep. That was one of the names that was mentioned in the article about how we would all become used to different words used to describe the storms we would experience. “Atmospheric River” was one of them. I couldn’t tell you where I read that first, though I was doing a lot of looking into varying weather patterns and what to watch out for, and why.
Another thing I read about to watch out for, or saw it on a channel, most likely YouTube, were square shaped clouds. It said something to the effect of – – – I’m paraphrasing: if you see square shaped clouds, have your emergency gear ready, perhaps even run, though I do not want to be an alarmist or alarm anyone. Would be good to look it up though. I don’t recall what kind of storm that meant was coming, but something was.
I am also most appreciative of what my Mom taught us. When the wind blows and the leaves turn up, it’s going to rain, and depending how hard, likely storm.
